Take a Journal to a Whole New Level

September is my FAVOURITE month. Okay, so maybe that’s because it’s my birthday month, and my anniversary, and my favourite time of year—Autumn, not hot, not cold and full of colour LOL.

It was also about this time a number of years ago that I discovered bullet journaling. I thought it was just a simple way to keep organized…but then I discovered there was a whole other artistic side of it that blew my mind! Monthly spreads, weekly spreads, daily spreads so full of colour and design—I jumped in with both feet. The mundane to-do list and food tracking suddenly became something I wanted to do, and my creativity was let loose, and this was just the beginning. I really have to attribute most of what you see on my website to having begun with bullet journaling opening up that part of me I had set aside for motherhood and day jobs. It helped me find a great self-care system in my art again.

Then I found Instagram and a whole community of bullet journalers and artists…and I’d found my people. Writing can be quite solitary, and I guess you could say I've always been the rainbow sheep in the family, as no one else, even in my group of good friends, pursues any type of creativity. So finding other like-minded people, from so many different country and cultures, made a big difference.

If you like to make lists, doodle, journal, or just keep little notes on your day, then I would highly recommend bullet journaling, because the best part is that there is no wrong way to do it. It can be as similar or as individual as you choose to make it. From minimal point form to burgeoning strokes of colour and designs, it can be whatever makes you happy, whatever works for you to help get things done, get your thoughts on paper so they don’t take up worried space in your head, or keep track of anything from a food log to your exercise or sleeping habits…even all of the above and more LOL.

I have some of my spreads here on my website under Bujo (BUllet JOurnal) and don’t hesitate to leave a comment or even contact me if you have any questions, comments or want to know more. I am happy to chat about it.

Peace, joy, and creativity,
